Smith, Cathy (Richardson) (September 21, 1958 - October 30, 2011)
Cathy Smith, 53, Medford, died Sunday, October 30, 2011, at Deer View Meadows where she had resided for the four weeks.
Cathy was born September 21, 1958, in Milwaukee.
She graduated from Medford Senior High in 1977 and received her CNA certification at Northcentral Technical College, Medford.
Cathy married Delvin Smith on July 15, 1978, in Tony, and he survives. She worked at Colonial House in Colby, Phillips Plastics, Sandbox, Medford High School, Weather Shield and also did home day care. She enjoyed sewing, scrapbooking and genealogy.
Cathy was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, 4-H Federation, Black River Dodgers and Northwoods Archers.
She is survived by her husband, Delvin Smith, Medford; children Suzi (Robbie) Strebig, Medford, and Danial (Susan) Smith, Sand Creek; on grandson; siblings Debbie (David) Kallenbach, Medford, and Larry Richardson of Weyerhauser; and mother Mary J. (Mikyska) Rutz, Arizona.
A Celebration of Cathy's life will be held at 11 a.m., Sat. November 12, at Holy
Rosary Catholic Church, Medford. Deacon Joseph Stefancin will preside. A
Cremainal Inurnment will take place at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery, Town
of Holway, Taylor County.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday, November 11 in the Fireplace Lounge,
Holy Rosary Social Center where there will be a 6:45 p.m. Prayer Service and
also from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Saturday, November 12, at Holy Rosary Catholic
Church, Medford.
Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Smith and Robbie Streibig. Cremainal inurnment will take place at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Holway.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Cathy’s family to be designated at
a later date.
