She was a 1989 graduate of St. Catherine's High School and worked at Lincoln Lutheran and In-Sink-Erator in Racine. Kris graduated from the University of Phoenix with a degree in health administration in August 2011. Kris enjoyed playing darts, competing with the Joey's Tuesday and Wednesday dart teams, and participating in state dart tournaments. She was an avid NASCAR fan and landscape artist, enjoyed listening to Bon Jovi, and she adored spending time with her niece and nephew, Elizabeth "Lizzy" and Alexander "AJ" Wilson of Medford.

In addition to her mother, Sandra, she is survived by a sister, Kim (Brian) Wilson of Medford; her niece and nephew, Beth and Alex; two uncles, Joseph Sus Jr. and Robert Sus of Racine; one aunt, Judy (Bryan) Krist of Cambria; special cousin, Renee Sus of Racine; seven cousins; dear friend, Kelly Johnson of Racine; many other friends; and her "baby," Jazz. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Geraldine and George Shimkus and Gertrude and Joseph Sus Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012 at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Sean Granger officiating. Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Thursday at the church from 4 to 6 p.m.

The family extends a special thank you for the care given by the nurses and medical staff at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center, and to the Woofdorf-Astoria for their special care of Jazz.

Maresh-Meredith and Acklam Funeral Home of Racine assisted the family with arrangements. Condolences may be made at www.meredithfuneralhome.com.
