Sus, Kristen "Kris" Marie (March 31, 1971 - January 2, 2012)
Kristen "Kris" Marie Sus, 40, died on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, of a sudden illness, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center.
Kris was born to Sandra (Shimkus) and the late John Sus on March 31, 1971 in Racine.
She was a 1989 graduate of St. Catherine's High School and worked at Lincoln
Lutheran and In-Sink-Erator in Racine. Kris graduated from the University of
Phoenix with a degree in health administration in August 2011. Kris enjoyed
playing darts, competing with the Joey's Tuesday and Wednesday dart teams, and
participating in state dart tournaments. She was an avid NASCAR fan and
landscape artist, enjoyed listening to Bon Jovi, and she adored spending time
with her niece and nephew, Elizabeth "Lizzy" and Alexander "AJ" Wilson of
Medford.
In addition to her mother, Sandra, she is survived by a sister, Kim (Brian)
Wilson of Medford; her niece and nephew, Beth and Alex; two uncles, Joseph Sus
Jr. and Robert Sus of Racine; one aunt, Judy (Bryan) Krist of Cambria; special
cousin, Renee Sus of Racine; seven cousins; dear friend, Kelly Johnson of
Racine; many other friends; and her "baby," Jazz. In addition to her father, she
was preceded in death by her grandparents, Geraldine and George Shimkus and
Gertrude and Joseph Sus Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012 at 6
p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Sean Granger officiating. Private
interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet
with the family on Thursday at the church from 4 to 6 p.m.
The family extends a special thank you for the care given by the nurses and
medical staff at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center, and to the
Woofdorf-Astoria for their special care of Jazz.
