Gacek, Marcella Ruth (Waldhart) (August 4, 1923 - January 26, 2012)

Marcella Ruth Gacek, 88, Rib Lake, died on Thursday, Jan. 26 at Golden LivingCenter in Rib Lake.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake, with Father Otto Bucher officiating. Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake. Pallbearers were Larry Waldhart, Jim Gebauer, Nick Synol, Derek Thieme, Zachary Butera, Bill Niggemann, Jason Matyka and Reid Matyka.

Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.

The former Marcella Waldhart was born on August 4, 1923 in Little Black to the late Christian and Ida (Bartz) Waldhart. She attended Stetsonville Grade School.

On April 15, 1944 in Milwaukee, she married Frank George Gacek, who preceded her in death on August 10, 2005. They lived in Milwaukee until moving to Rib Lake in 1968. She worked as a cook for the Rib Lake School District for over 25 years, and enjoyed being around the children.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Christian Mothers. an active member of Hope Hospice, and was a candidate for the Pax Christi Award. She enjoyed listening to music.
Survivors include nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
