Schreiner, Edna A. (Krasin) (January 17, 1922 - February 5, 2012)
Edna A. Schreiner, 90, Rib Lake, died on Sunday, Feb. 5 at Golden LivingCenter in Rib Lake, where she resided the past 5-1/2 years, most recently under hospice care.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rib Lake, with Rev. James Heffner officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake. Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters, Sharon Jacksack, Diane Shetney, Jeannine Thums, Jill Scheithauer, Lisa Menchiski, Kristy Zander, Becky Budimlija and Sarah Schreiner. Active pallbearers are her grandsons, Randy, Allen and Dan Thums, Scott, Steve, David and Aaron Schubert, and Mark and Brad Schreiner.
Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of
service.
Hemer-Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home of Rib Lake assisted the family with
arrangements.
The former Edna Krasin was born on January 17, 1922 in Split Rock to the late
Wilhelm and Anna (Seefeldt) Krasin. She attended Marshfield area elementary
schools and was a graduate of Marshfield High School. She worked at Memorial
Hospital in Medford.
On May 9, 1942 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield, she married John P.
Schreiner, who preceded her in death in 2001. She was a homemaker, worked for
Gem Products in Rib Lake, and did domestic babysitting in her home.
She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid, and
past bowling league member. She enjoyed reading, quilt making, bowling, playing
cards, traveling, her dog, the Chicago Cubs, and her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
Survivors include eight children, Delores "Dori" (Dick) Rhody of Sun Prairie,
Donna (Henry) Thums, Karen (Herb) Schubert, and William "Bill" (Laurie), all of
Rib Lake, Barbara "Barb" (Ron) Budimlija of Wausau, Susan "Sue" (Jane Weber)
Schreiner of Washburn, Katherine "Dr. Kate" Alden of Merrill and Robert "Bob"
(Sandy) Schreiner of Stetsonville; a brother, Don (Elinor) of Marshfield;
foreign exchange student, Wendy Pallister of New Zealand; 17 grandchildren; and
18 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two
sisters, Alice Krasin and Arlene Shaw, and a son-in-law, Ken Alden.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the family for
future designation.
