Blasel, Sylvia A. (Schinker) (September 6, 1925 - February 19, 2012)

Sylvia A. Blasel, 86, Medford, died on Sunday, Feb. 19 at Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stetsonville, with Rev. James H. Babler officiating.


Hemer Funeral Home of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.

EDUCATION: Victory elementary school, Township of Deer Creek

MARRIAGE INFORMATION: July 30, 1946 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Stetsonville to Melvin Blasel and he survives

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: She resided and farmed in the township of Mayville, Clark Co. for most of her life until her retirement. She entered Memorial Nursing & Rehab Center, Medford in October of 2009. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, embroidery, animals, cooking, baking, canning, bird watching, her family and friends.

MEMBER OF: Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Stetsonville; Former member of the Township of Mayville - Homemakers Club

SURVIVING SPOUSE: Melvin Blasel, Medford

DECEASED GRANDDAUGHTER: Donna Rene Light in 1970

DECEASED GRANDSON: Perry Blasel in 2001
