Hasseldick, Wayne H. (November 28, 1933 - October 30, 2003)

Wayne H. Hasseldick, 69, Town of Deer Creek, died Thursday, Oct. 30 at his home under hospice care.

Funeral services were Sunday, Nov. 2 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stetsonville, with Rev. James Babler officiating. Burial was in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by the Boxrucker-Berry American Legion Post No. 519 of Stetsonville.

Pallbearers were Ralph Berry, Paul Strong, Don Lekie, Randy Pitzke, Kayo Pope and Bud Huhai. Honorary pallbearers were Justin Jacobsen, Ralph Pitzke, George Fischer, Don Abegglen, Maarlin Kraus and Bob Pfaff.

Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.

Wayne Haseldick was born November 28, 1933 in the Town of Browning to the late Edward and Hedwig (Suter) Hasseldick. He attended Medford area elementary schools and graduated from Colby High School in 1951.

His marriage to Barbara Nelson, who survives, took place August 11, 1956 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. He farmed most of his life in the Town of Deer Creek, retiring in 1992. He then did crop farming for Ralph Berry.

He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a past member of the Deer Creek Town Board, Centennial Hall Board and the Stetsonville Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing and trips to the casino.

 

In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Vicki Jacobsen of Stetsonville; two sister, Vivian Mankowski and Ethel Konczak, both of Milwaukee; and two grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn.

Stetsonville - Wayne H. Hasseldick, 69, Stetsonville, died Oct. 30, 2003, at his residence in the town of Deer Creek.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery with graveside military rites by Stetsonville American Legion Post 519.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hemer Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. until service time Sunday at the church.

He was born in the town of Browning to Edward G. and Hedwig (Suter) Hasseldick. He was married to Barbara Nelson on Aug. 11, 1956, in Stetsonville. Wayne served in the US Army from 1956 to 1958 and farmed most of his life in the town of Deer Creek. He retired in 1992.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Hasseldick of the town of Deer Creek; daughter, Vicki Jacobsen of Stetsonville; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Vivian Mankowski and Ethel Konczak, both of Milwaukee.
