Murphy, Nicholas "Nick" J. (January 26, 1994 - March 5, 2012)

Nicholas "Nick" J. Murphy, 18, Chippewa Falls, was pronounced dead on Monday, March 5 at his home.

A private family only memorial service will be held on Friday, March 9 at 11 a.m. Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with Rev. Pete Warmanen officiating.


Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.


Nicholas Murphy was born on January 26, 1994 in Medford to Jim and Christine Murphy.

He attended Medford Area Elementary School, Marshall Middle School and was currently a senior at Chi-Hi High School in Chippewa Falls. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, 4-wheeling, archery, going to the cabin in Westboro, cars and Xbox.


Survivors include his mother, Christine (Matt Huth) Murphy of Chippewa Falls; his father, Jim (Linda) Murphy of Medford; a brother, Cullen Murphy of Medford; four step-brothers, Aren and Ethan Kirkeeng of Medford and Dylan and Hunter Huth of Eau Claire; maternal grandparents, Tom and Brenda Hanson of Chippewa Falls; paternal grandparents, Frank and Margaret Murphy of Medford; maternal great-grandmother, Wanda Mannes of Plano, Texas; aunts and uncles, Cheryl (Scott) Hauch of Oakdale, Minn., Michael (Chris) Hanson of Thorp, and Frank (Cher) Murphy and Kelly (Todd) Emmerich, both of Medford; and other aunts and uncles and cousins.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the family for future designation.
