Frey, Marcella V. (Ziemer) (14 FEB 1921 - 7 JUL 2012)
Marcella V. Frey, 91, Medford, died on Saturday, July 7 at Aspirus Wausau
Hospital, where she had been a patient for half a day. Funeral services were
held on Tuesday, July 10 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Medford,
with Reverend James Krueger officiating.
Burial was at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Pallbearers were Jeff and Jason
Frey, Justin and Katie Pospishil, Amber Tischhauser, Livy Randall, Carol Romano
and Charles Frey.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.
The former Marcella Ziemer was born on February 14, 1921 in the Town of
Browning to the late Herbert A. and Leona I. (Rackow) Ziemer. She attended
Mathey Elementary School in the Town of Browning and was a graduate of Medford
High School.
On February 14, 1942 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, she married
John William Frey, who preceded her in death on February 1, 2004. She worked at
the Medford ASCS office, as a receptionist for Dr. Robert May, optometrist, in
Medford, and farmed in the Town of Browning until 1976. During retirement she
did eldercare.
She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Ladies of
Immanuel. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, swimming, square dancing and
spending time with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Duane "Dewey" (Kathy) of Medford and William
"Bill" of Macon, Ga.; two daughters, Joan (Gary) Pospishil of Eau Claire and
Susan (Brian) Randall of Baldwin; a brother, Kenneth (Sally) of Cumberland; nine
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and
husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Glendon; and a
daughter-in-law, Janet Frey in 2005.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Immanuel Evangelical
Lutheran Church.
