Roger drove truck for Farmers Union Co-op Transport in Stetsonville for a number of years, and then managed the company until purchasing his business, Nicks' Truck Repair and Sales in 1985. Roger had many interests and passions, none more than his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, antique tractors, auctions, breakfast social group at The Diner, and is remembered for his storytelling and making people smile.

Survivors include his wife, Donna, of Withee; three sons, Brian (Steph) of Withee, Terry (Bonnie) of Fall Creek and Mike (Susie) of Medford; nine grandchildren, Megan, Jessica, Kyle, Kasee, Brady, Cassandra, Alex, Riley and Tori Nicks; a brother, Walter (Lois) Nicks Jr. of Spring Valley, Ariz.; and mother-in-law, Marjorie (Ramminger) Krause of Dorchester. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Roger is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters-in-law, Mildred Ann Nicks and Norma Jean Krause.
