Medford Man Enters Gubernatorial Race

Medford, Wis., July 1 - James G. Peterson, local farmer and director of the Medford Co - operative creamery, announced today his candidacy for governor on the Republican ticket in the fall primaries.

Peterson, who also is president of the Medford Co-operative stores, asserted “the fusion Republican ticket is headed for a victory now that an open primary is assured. With the issue before the primary whether the representatives of the small business men and famers shall be the choice of the people, “I wish to assure my friends I am in the race to win.”

Declaring the Republican party is regaining strength because it represents “sane” government, Peterson said the voters “are firmly determined that the LaFollette crowd of wasters who have been spending public monies and then crying for more have reached the end of the trial.”
