Tank, Edith (2 July 1912 - 20 Aug. 1963)

Mrs. Edith Tank, 51, of 208 E. Third St., died this morning at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thur. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. G. M. Krueger will officiate and burial will be made in the Nasonville cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Hansen Funeral Home from Wed. noon until Thur. noon and then at the church.

The former Edith Burt was born July 2, 1912 at Lindsey. She lived in the town of Carey until her marriage to Walter Tank, Aug. 1929, when they moved to Butternut, where they resided until 1943 when they moved to La Crosse. In 1950 they came to Lindsey, where she operated the Lindsey telephone office, until 1956 when they came to Marshfield.

Mrs. Tank is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Delores) Stangl, Marshfield; two sons, Donald Tank, Wisconsin Rapids; and Gerald Tank, St. Paul, Minn.; two step-children, Mrs. Lafayette (Betty) Hammock, Gary, Ind.; and Harlan Tank, Joliet, Ill.; five sisters, Mrs. Herbert (Alice) Kohls, Wisconsin Rapids; Mrs. Lyle (Clara) Holmes, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. William (Grace) Strohe, route 2, Marshfield; Mrs. Ervin (Hilda) Thomas, Glidden; and Mrs. Dale (Etta) Holmes, Kenosha; four brothers, George Burt, Sacramento, Calif.; Jay Burt, route 2, Marshfield; Allen Burt, route 5, Marshfield; and Louis Burt of Marshfield; four half sisters, Mrs. Fred (Almira) Christiansen, Arpin; Mrs. Elmer (Ella) Bolster, Pittsville; Mrs. Louis (Mathilda) Grimm, Arpin; and Mrs. Walter (Viola) Brown, Weyauwega, a half brother, Milo Burt, Vesper; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
