Vandeberg, Chester W. (25 Aug. 1917 - 1 Nov. 1998)
ELKHORN - Chester W. Vandeberg, 81, of 825 Eastown Manor in Elkhorn, died Nov. 1, 1998, at Lakeland Nursing Home.
Following cremation, a memorial service and burial will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are completed by Haase-Derrick-Lockwood Funeral Home in Elkhorn.
He was born Aug. 25, 1917, in Marshfield, the son of Alvin and Julia (nee Ziemba) Vandeberg. Chester married Edna Lee on Oct. 15, 1941, in Red Wing, Minn.
Chester worked for more than 40 years as a machinist for Mid West Dental/Dental Hospital Corp. of Chicago, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists.
Chester is survived by his wife, Edna; son, Lynn (Jackie) Vandeberg of Mountain Top, Pa.; daughter, Shirley (Robert) Hosbach of Elkhorn; former daughter-in-law, Susan Vandeberg of Johnson City, Ind.; four grandchildren, Kevin (Jinny) Vandeberg, Keith Vandeberg, David (LaVel) Hosbach and Wendy (Christopher) Cans; great-granddaughter, Renee Hosbach; two brothers, Clifford (Jeanne) Vandeberg of Federal Way, Wash., and Howard (Alice) Vandeberg of Fair Oaks, Calif., his sister-in-law, Guyla Vandeberg of Delavan, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, John Vandeberg.
