OSTEGO, Mich. -- Debra R. "Debbie" Schanz Daniels, 39, of Otsego, Mich., and formerly of Marshfield died Sun. May 10, 2009, in Otsego.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and again from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Fri. at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, Mich.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sat. at the First Congregational Church in Otsego.

Visitation will be held locally from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wed., May 20 at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI). Private family committal services will be held on Thur., May 21 in Brooklawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in the town of Richfield, Wood County.

OTSEGO, Mich. -- Debra Rae (Schanz) Daniels, Otsego, Mich., and formerly of Marshfield, passed away on Sun. May 10, 2009, in Otsego.

Visitation will be held Fri. from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, Mich.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sat. May 16 at the First Congregational Church in Otsego, with the Rev. David H. Sidwell, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Kalamazoo, officiating. Cremation will follow.

The family will receive relatives and friends locally at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) in Marshfield from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wed., May 20.

Private family committal services will be held Thur., May 21 in Brooklawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in the town of Richfield, Wood County.

Debbie was born Nov. 27, 1969, in Marshfield, the daughter of Donald and Rae Ann (Sauter) Schanz. She had moved with her family to Grayling, Mich., where they lived for several years before moving back to Wisconsin. She graduated from Columbus High School, Marshfield, in 1987 and from St. Cloud State University in 1991. Currently she was working on a master's degree at Spring Arbor College. For the past five years, she was the human reSources director for Allegan County government.

Debbie shared her cooking and baking with others and enjoyed crafts, reading and her dogs. Above all else, she treasured spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was a member of the Society of Human ReSources Management. On May 28, 2004, she married Gerald "Jerry" Daniels, who survives. Also surviving are her parents; two step-children, Ryan Daniels and Mandy (Chris) Kelly and their children Lila and Finn; a sister, Tracy (Derrick) Christman; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Rose and Jerry Sauter and Don and Lorraine Schanz; a cousin, Mark Weinfurter; and her mother and father-in-law, Bernard and Hazel Daniels.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Sylvia's Place, a women's shelter located in Allegan, Mich., at P.O. Box 13, Allegan, MI 49010.
