Goetz, Evelyn J. (12 Feb. 1919 - 26 Oct. 2007)

Evelyn J. Goetz, 88, passed away Fri., Oct. 26, 2007, in Marshfield. She was born Feb. 12, 1919, in Manawa, daughter of the late Martin and Agnes (Flink) Kostzrak. On Jan. 28, 1947, she married Leonard T. Goetz in Manawa. He preceded her in death Jan. 10, 1994. Evelyn lived in Manawa her entire life. She worked for the local doctors in Manawa for a number of years. She was then employed at Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, Wis., for 14 years until retiring. Evelyn was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa where she was a member of the Altar Society and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She was active in the community and was a member and past president of the Manawa Garden Club, member and past president of the Futurae Club and Women's Club. Evelyn enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge. Evelyn and Leonard enjoyed their retirement together. They traveled extensively throughout the country to visit relatives and friends.

She is survived by her children, Thomas Goetz, Wautoma; James (Nancy) Goetz, Idaho; Kathy Larson, LaCrosse; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Wanda; a sister and a brother.

Evelyn's Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wed., Oct. 31, 2007, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa with Fr. Gerald Goetz officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Manawa. Friends will be received at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa from 4 to 7 p.m. Tues. and at the church Wed. from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. A Parish Prayer service will be held 6:30 p.m. Tues. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Lion's Pride Campaign. Evelyn and Leonard were true believers in the work being done at the Wisconsin Lions Camp in Rosholt.
