Wissnick, Esther A. (6 Mar. 1889 - 23 Aug. 1988)

Esther A. Wissnick, 99, died at 2:40 p.m. Tues. at the Marshfield Living Center, where she had been a resident since April 29, 1979.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Fri. at St. John’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Leonard G. Kaiser will officiate. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Helen Brinkmann will be the organist for St. John’s Church Choir. Pallbearers will be Norman Durst, Robert Scherr, Ernie Fuller, Dean Bohman, Kenneth Josephson and Joseph Felhofer.

Visitation will be at the Rembs/Kundinger Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today, and again on Fri. until time of services. St. John’s Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service will be at 4 p.m. today, with St. John’s prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today, both at the funeral chapel.

She was born March 6, 1889, in the town of Milladore, to Matthew and Anna Dolezal. She attended St. John’s Parochial School.

She was married to Bernard J. Wissnick, May 23, 1911, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield. He died March 15, 1977.

They lived in Marshfield before moving to Berlin in 1929. In 1930, they returned to Marshfield where Mr. Wissnick was a barber and also worked at Roddis Plywood Corp. and Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI). They celebrated their 50th, 60th, and 65th anniversaries.

She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and St. John’s Parish Council of Catholic Women. She is survived by one son, Arthur of Marshfield, one granddaughter, and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, four brothers, three sisters, and one great-grandson.
