Powell, Edwin & Emma (70th Anniv. - 25 Mar. 2009)

Edwin and Emma Powell of Marshfield will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on March 25, 2009. They were married March 25, 1939, by the Justice of the Peace Warfield. A reception was held at the home of John and Caroline Powell, Marshfield, parents of the groom.

Glenda Miller of Marshfield is the couple’s daughter. Their son, Robert, is deceased, having succumbed to Hodgkins Disease at the age of 27 in March 1967. Their daughter-in-law is Sharon Dole of Dresser. They have three grandchildren, Jason Powell in Minnesota, Angela and Russ Schoo1 of Wittenberg and Brian and Lianne Miller in Pennsylvania. Also five great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Edwin was born August 28, 1916 and was employed by the SooLine Railroad for 35 years, retiring as a section foreman in August 1976. The former Emma Ella Cox was born June 4, 1921 and did housekeeping for several families in Marshfield.

They are members of Faith Fellowship Church and enjoy quiet living together in their own home.
