Sternitzky, Frances L. (4 July 1922 - 6 Mar. 2009)

Frances L. (Kraus) Sternitzky, 86, of Marshfield, died Fri., March 6, 2009, at her residence with her family by her side. She was under the care of Hospice and her son, Gary. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Marshfield, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Frances was born July 4, 1922, in Medford, the daughter of William and Frances Kraus. The former Frances L. Kraus was united in marriage to Christian Stendel on August 20, 1935, in Iowa. They later divorced.

Frances married George Sternitzky in 1945; he preceded her in death in 1986. Mrs. Sternitzky was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother.

Frances is lovingly survived by her children, Loretta Stendel, Marshfield; Anita (Phillip) Hendrickson, Beloit; Delores Stauffacher, Beloit; Judy (Vernon) Stienbach, Lodi; Georgia Sternitzky, Granton; Ann (Jack) Strassburg, Mariebelle; Gary Stendel, Chili; and Roger (Linda) Sternitzky, Minneapolis. Frances is further survived by 31 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Frances also was preceded in death by three brothers, one son, Francis Schmitt, and grandson, Ansley Sternitzky.

She will be deeply missed by her family, who love her very much.
