McDonald, Donald J. (24 Apr. 1925 - 7 Mar. 2006)
Donald J. McDonald, 80, of 1317 Birdie Trail, Town of Rome (Nekoosa) and formerly of Hartford, Wis., died Tues., March 7, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield.
Donald was born April 24, 1925 in Ashland, to Roy and Stephanie (Matusciewicz) McDonald. He married Helen Miskulin on June 3, 1950 in Ashland. During World War II, Donald served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific on the USS Aulick. Donald was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his annual Navy reunions. He owned and operated McDonald Reinforcing Company, Inc. in Hartford and was a member of the Milwaukee Local Union #8 Ironworkers.
He is survived by his wife, Helen McDonald; four daughters: Mary (Ed) Marynik of West Bend, Patricia (Rich) Nowakowski of Mukwonago, Barbara McDonald of Pewaukee and Dawn (Greg) Palmer of Colgate; six grandchildren: Brian (Lisa), Bradley and Thomas (Deana) Marynik, Ryan and Helena Nowakowski and Eric Palmer; three great-grandchildren: Lauren Marynik and Ryan and Tyler Marynik; and a brother, Thomas (Marilyn) McDonald of Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dick Masko.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sat. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nekoosa. Rev. John Swing will officiate. Entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.
Friends may call at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nekoosa on Sat. March 11, from 10-11 a.m. Felder/Ritchay Funeral Home of Nekoosa is assisting the family with arrangements.
