DeFOREST - Geraldine M. Hastreiter, 84, of Harbor House (Cedar Crossing) in DeForest, Wis., and formerly of Marshfield, passed to her heavenly home on May 3, 2002. *** Note: Some paragraphs were missing
*** Marshfield to Madison in October 1994; living with her brother, Michael and sister, Helen, before moving to Cedar Crossing in October 1996.
She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield and the Rosary-Altar Society of that parish. She was 4-H Leader teaching gardening, sewing and needlework.
She is survived by three daughters, Trudy (Gerald) Duffrin, LaCrosse, Katherine (Donald) Loghry, Port Angeles, Wash., Margaret (Steven) Diesso, New Berlin; two sons, Edward (Ann) Hastreiter, New Berlin, Fritz Hastreiter, Madison; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers, Michael Cafferty, Madison, Peter Cafferty, Jr., Madison, Leo (Lucy) Cafferty, Corrales, N.M., Al G. (Virginia) Cafferty, San Diego, Calif.; and two sisters, Kathryn (John) Brenizer, La Junta, Colo., and Helen Vargo, Madison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 1972; one daughter, Genevieve; parents; and one sister, Joan Cafferty.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Fri., May 10, 2002, at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 823 Jefferson Street, DeForest, with Fr. Gary Wankerl officiating. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield. Friends may call from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thur., May 9, 2002, at the Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., where a Rosary Service will be held at 7 p.m.; and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Fri..
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association, The American Cancer Society, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Marshfield, St. Olaf Catholic Church, 623 Jefferson St., DeForest, WI 53532, or charity of choice.
