Hagen, Allan P-V Dr. (14 Feb. 1952 - 11 Feb. 2002)
LaCRESCENT, Minn. - Dr. Allan P-V Hagen, age 49, of LaCrescent, Minn., suddenly passed away Mon., Feb. 11, 2002, at his home in LaCrescent.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Fri. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Ashland with Father Vernon Olmer, O.F.M., officiating. Internment will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Ashland.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time Fri. at the church.
Frost Home for Funerals in Ashland is assisting the family with the arrangements.
He was born Feb. 14, 1952, in Ashland, the son of Robert E. and Christine M. (nee Maslik) Hagen. He was a graduate of Ashland High School.
At age 20 Allan was elected to a three-year term to the Board of Education in the Ashland Unified School District. He majored in mathematics and graduated summa cum laude from Northland College of Ashland. He continued his schooling at the Harvard Medical School where he received his Doctor of Medicine Degree. He was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society which is awarded to the top seven percent of the class Harvard. From 1978 until 1981, he completed his residence in Ophthamology at the Eye Institute, Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee where he was appointed Chief Resident.
He married Martha K. Vick on Dec. 17, 1983, in Ridgeway, Iowa. He practiced Ophthamology from 1981 until 1995 at several locations and most recently at the Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin Rapids. Some of his fondest memories were the times he traveled to the Luangwa Valley in Zambia, Africa, with Martha.
He is survived by his wife, Martha K. Hagen of LaCrescent, Minn.; his mother, Christine M. Hagen; two brothers, Daniel P. Hagen and Robert (Chris) Hagen, Jr.; two sisters, Kristine Hagen and Patricia (Mark) Williams; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Hagen, Sr.
