Bushman, Isabelle T. (13 July 1914 - 21 Feb. 2009)
STEVENS POINT -- Isabelle T. Bushman, 94, of Stevens Point, passed away Sat. Feb. 21, 2009, at the Portage County Health Care Center.
Services for Mrs. Bushman will be held at 11 a.m. Fri. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Stevens Point. The Rev. Al Jakubowski will officiate. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Fri., at the church. Shuda Family Funeral Services is assisting the family.
Isabelle was born July 13, 1914, in Marshfield, the daughter of Henry and Rose (Bomen) Weigel. She attended schools in Marshfield and then began working in Chicago before her marriage. She married Herbert Bushman on Sept. 28, 1937, at St. John's Church in Marshfield.
The couple lived in Marshfield for five years before moving to Stevens Point. The couple resided on Illinois Avenue for many years before moving to their Heffron Street address. Isabelle has resided at the care center the past two years.
Isabelle worked at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point as the housemother at Neal Hall and cook for 25 years before retirement. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Portage County Health Care Center for the care both Isabelle and her husband, Herbert, received.
She is survived by her three children, Lois Jean (Franklin) Miller, Stevens Point, Gordon (Kitty) Bushman, Lincoln City, Ore., and Wayne (Carol) Bushman, Junction City; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandsons; her son-in-law, Harley Peterson, Stevens Point; two sisters, Roselyn Adler, Marshfield, and Marie Husedt, Wausau; and her sister-in-law, Agnes Weigel, Marshfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert, in 2005; her daughter, Carol Peterson, in July 2003; two brothers; one sister; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
