MARSHFIELD -- Shirley Mae Von Holzen, age 74, of 1206 West 4th St., Marshfield, died Thur., March 1, 2001, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she had been admitted on Feb. 21, 2001.
She was born Nov. 27, 1926, in Ashland, the daughter of Bernard and Ann (Semanko) Lynch. She graduated from DePadua High School in Ashland. She married Warner G. Von Holzen on May 4, 1946, in Ashland. Shirley enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with her husband, friends, and most of all watching her children and grandchildren grow. They had a cottage in the Tomahawk area at which they spent lots of time since 1968. Mrs. Von Holzen was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church, and The Parish Council of Catholic Women.
She is survived by three sons, Scott (Barb) Von Holzen, Schofield; Roger Von Holzen, Maryville, Mo., and Jeff (Kris) Von Holzen, Ashland; three grandchildren, Scott’s child, Kinsey Von Holzen, and Jeff’s children, Jordon and Eric Von Holzen; and one sister, Betty Ann Schaefer, Bethesda, Md. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Bernadine Sullivan.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Mon., March 5, at the Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home in Marshfield. The Rev. James J. Logan, Pastor of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield, will officiate. Entombment will be held at the Hillside Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Marshfield.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sun. at the Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home, and also on Mon. at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until service time. A combined Our Lady of Peace Parish and Knights of Columbus Rosary Service will be held on Sun. at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
