Keshick, Karen Joy (19 April 1945 - 30 January 2009)
Karen J. Keshick, 63, of Black River Falls and formerly of Wisconsin Rapids died Fri., Jan. 30, 2009, in Black River Memorial Hospital, Black River Falls.
Karen Joy Keshick was born April 19, 1945, in Wisconsin Rapids to Russell Monegar and Alice Twinn.
She lived in Wisconsin Rapids with her family until 1959 when the family moved to California. She graduated from Venice High School in Venice, CA. She also graduated from Wayne State College in Wayne, NE, with a degree in criminal justice.
Karen had also lived in Winnebago, NE, until moving to Fresno, CA, in 1996. She returned to Wisconsin and Black River Falls in December of 2008. She had been a resident of Pine View Care Center since moving back to Black River Falls.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Ruth “Morningstar” Keshick Meyers of Ocean View, HI; two brothers, Morris Keshick of Black River Falls, and David Twinn of Lancaster, CA; and a Ho-Chunk brother, Chuck Smith, of Vesper.
Native American Church funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Mon., Feb. 2, 2009, at the Chak-ha-chee Community Center, rural Nekoosa. Burial was in the Dexterville Cemetery, Town of Dexter.
Family and friends were invited for continuous visitation at the Chak-ha-chee Community Center starting at 5 p.m. Sun. Feb. 1, 2009, until services Mon..
