Trierweiler, Frances (100th Birthday - 24 Sept. 2007)
Centennial celebrations: Frances Trierweiler
Frances Trierweiler of Marshfield recently celebrated her 100th birthday with family and residents at the Marshfield Center. Partygoers played bingo and enjoyed sweet treats.
Frances was born Sept. 24, 1907, to the late Ida (Gripentrog) and Frederick Schwantes and grew up in the Spencer area. She worked for Roddis Lumber for 30 years. She is most proud of her family that includes three daughters, Elaine Fleisner and Ellen Huber, both of Marshfield, and Joan Heiting of Wausau; a daughter-in-law, Pat Trierweiler of Marshfield; 24 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
A special memory is of a Christmas long ago. Her husband, Ervin Trierweiler, ordered a Maytag wash machine from the Fair Store, and it arrived on Christmas Day! Ervin passed in 1961, shortly after they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
Frances likes to see people smiling. In her more agile days she enjoyed taking grandchildren to Brewers baseball games, after catching the bus at Roddis Lumber.
