Thomas B. Scott (Rep.), of Grand Rapids, Wood county, was born February, 1829, at Roxburyshire, Scotland; received a public school education; is by occupation a Lumberman; came to Wis. in 1848, and first settles in Columbia county; removed to Grand Rapids in 1851, where he has since resided; has held various town offices; county clerk one term and county treasurer of Wood county two terms. He was state senator in 1973, ’74, ’75, ’76, ’77, and ’78, and re-elected for 1879, ’80, receiving 3,821 votes against 2,923 for Richard Dewhurst (Greenbacker).
