DEATH OF WILLIAM BARTELS
William Bartels, formerly police justice and a prominent resident of this city, died at the county insane asylum near Wausau last Saturday, the remains being brought here for internment Tuesday. Deceased left this city for the west about ten years ago and his reason failed him a short time afterward. He was returned to this state several years ago and has since been an inmate of the Marathon county institution. Deceased is survived by a son and daughter, Otto Bartels, and Miss Emma Bartels, both of this city.
