Wiegel, Helen Minnie (Jarchow) (August 25, 1914 - June 22, 2011)
Helen Minnie Wiegel, 80, Rib Lake, died on Wednesday, June 22 at Golden LivingCenter in Rib Lake.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16 at 11 a.m. at Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Rib Lake. Inurnment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the
time of the service.
The former Helen Jarchow was born on July 29, 1930 in Medford to the late
William and Johannah (Scheithauer) Jarchow. She attended school in the Greenwood
area.
On May 3, 1952 in Rib Lake, she married Henry Gottlieb Wiegel, who preceded her
in death in 1982. They farmed in Rib Lake until 1964. She also worked at Gem
Products in Rib Lake for 22 years as a sewing machine operator. In 1984 after
her husband died, she moved to the Chicago, Ill., area for 10 years before
moving back to Rib Lake.
She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rib Lake. She
enjoyed playing her accordion, dancing, especially polkas and waltzes, playing
bingo, and in her younger years, she enjoyed farming.
Survivors include four children, Leon (Nancy) of Westboro, Vicki (Richard)
Dassow and Daniel, both of Medford, and Roland of Rib Lake; a sister, Myrtle
Gebauer of Medford; 13 grandchildren, Laurie (Dale) Andreae, Jesse Jarchow,
Jenny (Josh) Reynolds, Jeff Dassow, David (Tina) Dassow, Christine Dassow, Katie
Dassow, Tasha (Chris) Wicks, Tabitha (Troy) Block, Butch (Shannon) Wiegel,
Johnny Wiegel, Marcie Wiegel and Brandun Wildman; nine great-grandchildren;
nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two
brothers and three sisters.
Memorial contributions in her honor may be directed to the family.
