John Christ Dorpat
Salesman
John Christ Dorpat was born January 27, 1869 at Boscobel, Grant County, Wis. He received his education in the schools of Illinois and Missouri and returned to Wis. when he was 19 years old to work at Butternut. Three years later he came to Marshfield to accept a position in the store of the Upham Manufacturing Company. From 1900 to 1901 he served as treasurer of Marshfield and for five years was also a member of the Marshfield Fire Department. Since 1901 he has been employed as a salesman in various stores and his present position is that of salesman in the Johnson-Hill Store at Wis. Rapids.
Mr. Dorpat was married on May 28, 1891 to Augusta Wegner of Butternut. Mr. and Mr. and Mrs. Dorpat have three children, Mrs. Nora Kruck, Mrs. Emma Binnebose, and Mrs. Helen Beseler.
Politically Mr. Dorpat is Republican. His hobby is reading.
