A barn owned by Gordon Meddaugh of rural Granton (Clark Co., Wis.), was
destroyed October 15, 1975 in a fire. The barn was located four miles south of
Granton on County Trunk K.
Granton firemen responded to a call by Eugene Schultz of Granton. Schultz
discovered the fire at approximately 9 p.m. and called the fire department from
the home of Billy Stillman.
The barn was in a total blaze by the time firemen arrived at the scene.
Meddaugh said the cause of the blaze is unknown at this time, but the Clark
County Sheriff's Department is investigation the incident.
Estimated cost of damage if $20,000, according to Meddaugh. The barn was
completely full of hay.
Meddaugh said there was no machinery or animal loss, and the fire department
save a machine shed and another building from catching fire.
