SAD DEATH LAST SATURDAY

Miss Jennie Buchmiller Passed Away After Brief Illness

Very popular Young Lady, a Lifelong Resident of Marshfield

Miss Jennie Buchmiller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Buchmiller of 410 west Fifth street, died last Saturday at St. Joseph’s hospital after an illness of less than a week. Her death was entirely unexpected and came as a sad shock to the entire community, many of her friends being unaware of her illness. Miss Buchmiller has been ill since the Monday previous to her death but her condition was deemed not serious until Friday when inflammation of the bowels developed. She was taken to St. Jospeh’s hospital from her room last Friday night but the very best surgical aid was unavailing and she died at 5 a.m. Saturday.

The funeral took place from the home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Rev H. C. Postlethwaite conducting the service in the presence of a sorrowing gathering of relatives and friends of the deceased. Those present from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kamps of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Nels Everson of Abbotsford, George Buchmiller of Prentice, Mrs. Kate Little of Park Falls, Miss Lena Kamps of Chilton.

Deceased was born at Prentice on June 10, 1889 and resided at that place during her early childhood, coming to Marshfield with her parents at the age of eight years. She attended the public schools leaving the high school in her sophomore year. She was employed for several years as operator in the local telephone exchange, and later following a natural artistic bent she took up the profession of millinery and became an expert, opening a parlor millinery at her home last year in which she has been very successful. Miss Buchmiller was a member of the Presbyterian church and the Rebecca lodge, a devout and enthusiastic worker in church and social fields. The bereaved parnts have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in their hour of affliction.
