Beseler, Helen M. (18 July 1906 - 13 Apr. 1995)

Helen M Beseler, 88 of 613 S. Cherry Ave., died at 1:10 pm April 13, 1995, at her home. She had been in ill health for the last 6 months.

Memorial services will be held at 11 am Mon. at Faith Lutheran Church. The Rev. Gary Hedding and the Rev. Eric Biedermann will officiate. Music will be provided by Maldon Plank, organist and William Allen, soloist.

Burial will be at Hillside Lutheran Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives following the services.

Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born July 18, 1906, in Marshfield, to John C. and Augusta (Wegner) Dorpat. She died in the same house in which she was born. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Elementary School and McKinley High School.

She was married to Arnold O. Beseler on Nov. 12, 1923, shortly after her education in Marshfield. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1973. Prior to and during World War II, she was employed at the ? plant. In 1947 she and her husband founded Beseler Steel Products. This later became a family business with sons John and Frederick and sons-in-law Lee Weisenberger and William Butler involved in the business. She and her husband retired in 1960.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and its former Ladies Aid where she held offices. She was also a member of the present Elizabeth Circle Piece Corps quilting group at the church and was a Gold Star mother. She and her husband were instrumental in the founding of the Marshfield Chapter of AA.

She is survived by two daughters, June (Lee Weisenberger), and Lois (William) Butler, all of Marshfield, 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded by her husband on March 31, 1978; three sons, Frank Beseler who died during World War II, John Beseler and Frederick Beseler; and three sisters, Esther Dorpat, Nora Kruck, and Erna Binnebose.

Memorials may be designated in Helen Beseler’s name to St. Joseph’s Hospital home hospice program or Faith Lutheran Church.
