Flugaur, Ilene J. (26 June 1927 - 27 Nov. 2008)

WISCONSIN RAPIDS -- Ilene J. "Mutsie" Flugaur, 81, of 530 Ninth Ave. N., Wisconsin Rapids, died peacefully surrounded by her entire family Thur., Nov. 27, 2008, at Saint Joseph's Palliative Care Center, Marshfield.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Mon. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Timothy Welles will officiate.

Entombment will be in Forest Hill Mausoleum. Friends may call at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sun. and Mon. at the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Sun. at the funeral home.

Mutsie was born June 26, 1927, in Chili, to Ambrose and Anna (Folz) Hopp. She married Harold F. Flugaur on Feb. 23, 1946, in Stevens Point. Mutsie was employed for many years with the Wisconsin Rapids Public School Lunch Program, retiring in 1989 as the head cook for West Junior High. Mutsie was a member of St. Lawrence PCCW, enjoyed playing cards and spending time at their cottage in Saynor for the past 18 years and especially loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports.

Mutsie is survived by her husband, Harold; five children, Jim (Cindi) Flugaur of Wisconsin Rapids, Gary (Terry) Flugaur of Wisconsin Rapids, John Flugaur of Oshkosh, Cheri (Dewey) Hafermann of Wisconsin Rapids, and David Flugaur of Wisconsin Rapids; 13 grandchildren, Erin Svoboda, Nick (Khryse) Flugaur, Brady (Kelly) Flugaur, Lindsay (Michael) Su, Kiley (Scott) Hackl, Rhianna Flugaur, Jason (Donna) Fountaine, Adam Fountaine, Emily Hafermann, Tyler Hafermann, A.J. Hafermann, Tabitha Flugaur and Kelli Flugaur. She also is survived by eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Rodney Hopp of Stevens Point.

Mutsie was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Marvin and Oscar; and three sisters, Mildred, Marion and Bernice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to St. Lawrence Church or to Assumption High School Foundation.
