The annual commencement of the Loyal High School (Clark Co., Wis.) was held
at the M.W.A. Opera House at 8 o'clock, May 31st, 1916. The stage was
appropriately decorated in the class colors of red and white, the flower
decoration being red roses and house plansts.
The following program was given:
- Music – Orchestra
- Invocation – Rev. Powell
- Chorus – Glee Club
- Salutatory – Erma Herdrich
- Commencement Address – Rev. J. Laughlin D.D.
- Violin Solo – Howard Blancher
- Valedictory – Clara Kilburn
- Presentation of Diplomas – Prin. Carl F. Schaub
- Music – Orchestra
The song by the Glee Club was exceptionally good and showed careful
training. The Salutatory and Valedictory by Erma Herdrich and Clara Kilburn,
respectively, were well given, while the violin solor by Howard Blancher was
enjoyed by all present.
The address was given by Rev. J. Laughlin D.D. of Oshkosh was fine and an
inspiration to everyone present.
The names of the graduates are as follows: Ella E. Altman, Clara B. Kilburn,
Howard S. Blancher, Julia A. Slocum, Claire E. Darton, Bessie L. Tucker,
Erma R. Herdrich, Sadie G. Walls.
