Schuh, Robert Henry (3 JAN 1943 - 19 AUG 2019)

Robert Henry Schuh, age 76, of Curtiss, passed away on August 19, 2019 at his residence under the tender care of St. Croix Hospice with his family by his side.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Saint Mary Help of Christian Parish in Colby. Father Baskaran Sandhiyagu will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.

Robert was born on January 3, 1943, the son of Henry and Vernice (Sommers) in Eau Claire, WI. He attended Woodland School in the Town of Green Grove and graduated from Colby High School. On June 9, 1973, Robert was united in marriage to Judy Dassow. Together they farmed until he became sick. Robert’s favorite job was driving for meals on wheels for 14 years. This is where he enjoyed helping and visiting with participants.

Robert created Whispering Pines Amusement Park, he was a kid at heart. He loved anything science, particularly physics. He was self taught and continued learning throughout his life. He was a collector of many novelties including: The Three Stooges, toy cars, miniature tractors (especially Allis Chalmers), M&M’s, LP Albums, antiques and tools. He was a member of the Colby Historical Society and the Curtiss Lion’s Club. Every year Robert looked forward to our annual 4th of July Party, it was the event of the year for him. He also loved making sno cones, cotton candy and other food on food truck which he brought to area events. Robert had an infectious smile and had a joke for everyone. Most importantly, he cherished his family.

Robert is survived by his wife of 46 years: Judy; four children: Scott (Sheri), Shelley (Dan) Johnson, Sandi (Brad) Weber, and Sarah (Matt) Drabek; five grandchildren: Mike Gustum, Chris Gustum, Haylea Drabek, Sadie Drabek, and Mattie Drabek; a sister, Mary Negrete, and a brother: Keith Wooley, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Phyllis Schmidt.
