Lichte, Erwin E. (5 May 1907 – 23 June 1975)

A Town of Grant native, Erwin E. Lichte of Memorial Home, died Monday, June 23, at the age of 68. Funeral services were to be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home, with the Rev. Everett Schleef of Granton officiating. Burial was to be in the Town of Grant Cemetery.

Mr. Lichte, the son of Adolph and Pauline Zwilling Lichte, was born May 5, 1907, in the Town of Grant and attended the Kurth school. After completing his education, he farmed with his brother and worked as a mechanic. Mr. Lichte, who was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, had been a resident of Memorial Home for the past 14 years. He was in failing health during that time.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Laura Drescher of Neillsville and Mrs. Elenor Huebner of Willard; and two brothers, Gerhardt Lichte of Greenwood and Elmer Lichte of Neillsville.

Lichte, Erwin E. (5 May 1907 – 25 June 1975)

Funeral services were held June 25 from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home for Erwin E Lichte, 68 of Memorial Home, who died June 23. The Rev. Everett Schleef of Granton officiated and interment followed in the Town of Grant cemetery.

Pallbearers were Vernon Drescher, Robert Drescher, DeWayne Huebner, Allen Lichte, Norman Meinhardt and Alfred Drinsinger.

Wilfred Galstad sang “Abide With Me” and “Softly and Tenderly.” Mary Heineck was the accompanist.
