Georgas, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer (40th - 1980)

In the short program following the celebration dinner, tributes and toasts were given to the couple. The table was decorated with a two-tier anniversary cake with arrangements of red and white petunias on each side, all done by Mrs. Don Champoux.

Those present were Mr./Mrs. Kenneth Bletsoe, Mr./Mrs. Don Champoux, Mr./Mrs. George Herbel, Mr./Mrs. Richard Lautenbach, Mr./Mrs. Bunny Matheson, Mr./Mrs. Milo Reese, Mr./Mrs. Franklin Reindel, Mr./Mrs. Frank Svetlik, Mr./Mrs. Walter Trimberger, Mr./Mrs. James West, Mr./Mrs. Earl Zille, Mr./Mrs. Tony Steffes and Marie (blotch).

The group was invited to the Georgas house after the dinner for an evening of games, refreshments and visiting.

A group of 25 friends helped Elmer and Edna Georgas celebrate their wedding anniversary at the Moonlite Inn on Monday evening, August 11.

Mr. and Mrs. Georgas were married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stevens Point on July 28, 1940, by Elmer’s former pastor, the Rev. William Ludwig. With the exception of three years of military service, they have lived all of their married lives in Neillsville, but now winter in Mesa, Arizona. They moved into the funeral home business here, in January 1, 1948, and retired on January 1, 1975.

They recently returned from several weeks’ vacation to three Canadian provinces and many of the northwestern states. The trip was to commemorate their anniversary.
