Last Monday morning about 7:30 as J.M. Philpott was working in his shop, the
fingers of his left hand caught on a splinter or something and were drawn
into the band saw in such a way that he nearly severed the fingers from his
hand.
He shut off the engine and walked to Dr. Pfeifer's office, where Dr.
Pfeifer, with Dr. McGonicgal's help, amputated the two first fingers on the
hand and dressed the injured hand. At present writing he is doing nicely.
