Sherman, Mabel (3 OCT 1916)
(The Kurtzheim/Vogel wedding announcement is covered in a separate article)
A double wedding, which had not been planned as such, took place at the
courthouse in Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.) Tuesday, Judge O.W. Schoengarth
officiating. Mr. Mathew Vogel and Miss Sadie Kurtzheim of Loyal, came to the
county seat for an official to marry them; at the courthouse they met Mr.
Edward Poppe and Miss Mabel Sherman of Longwood (Clark Co.), on a similar
errand. The two couples had never met before, but they consented to act as
witness for each other in the two ceremonies, and all went home happy.
