Walls, Mae Alice (30 NOV 1916)
At the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Spear at Spokane,
Washington, November 30, 1916, at eight o'clock p.m., Mae Alice Walls and
E.C. Spear were married. The groom is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Spear,
and is a young man of sterling worth and good habits. The bride needs no
introduction here. She is the oldest daughter of Mr. George Walls, south of
Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), is a graduate of the Loyal High School, and has
grown up in our midst, having the respect and esteem of all. Only relatives
were present. The bride wore white silk and carried a bouquet of pink roses
and lilies of the valley, and was attended by her sister Sadie. The groom
was attended by his brother Cecil.
After the ceremony a bountiful repast was served, and the remainder of the
evening was spent in a social way, which was enjoyed by all. They received
many varied and beautiful presents. Mr. and Mrs. Spear are keeping house in
Beebe, Washington, near the schoolhouse where Mrs. Spear will finish
teaching the term o f school she has begun, while Mr. Spear is working at
the fruit ranch near there.
The Tribune joins with friends in wishing Mr. and Mrs. Spear a long and
happy life.
