Holt, Albert (Lodge Devotion - 1975)
A surprise appreciation night and dinner was held Wednesday June 25,
honoring Albert Holt of Neillsville. Sponsored by the Blue Lodge of the
Neillsville Masonic Temple, the event was a testimonial to Brother Holt’s
outstanding service and devotion to the Masonic order.
Albert Holt joined the Masons over 25 years ago, and since that time has
worked his way through the many bodies within the lodge, becoming a 32nd
Degree Mason in 1971. He headed many of the bodies during that time and was
especially known for his proficiency in such areas. He also worked with many
of the area lodges, as well as with many men at his home lodge, teaching
them various work that is required to be committed to memory.
His immediate family members are well known for their Masonic work as well.
His wife, Fern, and his four daughters have all held offices, and have
worked many hours in the Eastern Star and Job’s Daughters.
The program for the evening followed a “This Is Your Masonic Life” format.
Representing the various of Masonry with which Holt is affiliated were: Milo
Mabie for Blue Lodge; Arnold Works for Chapter; Ivan Lauscher for Commandary;
Emile Albrecht for Eastern Star; Ed Heller for Council; Lave Hendrickson for
consistory; and Earl Bruhn for KYCH. They gave brief accounts of Holt’s
association and work within each group.
At the conclusion of the program, Holt was presented with a plaque from
Neillsville Blue Lodge No. 163 by the present master of the lodge, LeRoy
John. It was inscribed: “Presented to Albert Holt – in appreciation of
outstanding service to the crafts.”
Over 115 people attended the recognition party to testify to their affection
for this outstanding Mason. Wayne Grap served as master of ceremonies for
the evening. Jerry Opelt was in charge of arrangements.
