The sixty-fifth birthday of D.J. Fullmer was very fittingly enjoyably
celebrated on Tuesday evening last by a surprise party at his home northeast
of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.). A whole host of friends and neighbors from the
village went over in the old time way of double sleigh and occupants seated
in the straw. It was a merry lot who went to Uncle Dave's for a merry time,
and they had it too. Mr. Fullmer is an old timer in the town and was among
the first settlers. He has carved a comfortable home out of the forest and
is now spending his days in peace and plenty. May he live to be surprised a
good many times in just that way and by just as merry a crowd. They will all
have just as merry a time. His daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. T.O.
