Vetter, Carrie (7 DEC 1873 - 11 MAY 1894)
Note: Birth and death date from Loyal City Cemetery Record
The remains of Carrie Vetter were brought to Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) on
Wednesday for interment. She died very suddenly at the Cook County Hospital,
Chicago, of Meningitis. Her relatives here had not heard of her death, or
that she was dangerously ill. No deeper sorrow, no greater strain is brought
on a fond mother, a heart when a loved one who was supposed to be well, or
but slightly ill, is brought to the door a corpse. Little did the mother or
borhters think as she left home a few short months ago, an example of hope
and helath, that their fond farewell at her departure would be turned to
tears and sadness on her return. No wonder the mother fainted.
Carrie Vetter was reared in the town of Beaver (Clark Co., Wis.) and well
known in Loyal. She was 20 years old. Her quiet, retiring, yet bright and
lovable disposition won the esteem of those who knew her. Many friends in
Loyal join the bereaved relatives in mourning her untimely death . The
funeral services were conducted at the M.E. Church on Thursday at 4 p.m. by
Rev. S.A. Hoffman.
