Last Friday night a heavy rain storm accompanied by thunder and lightning,
visited this section (Loyal, Clark Co., Wis.). Several buildings were struck
and considerable damage was done. The steeple of the Lutheran Church was
struck, the bolt running down the inside, tearing off plastering, wainscot,
etc., and splitting the main post of the steeple. It will cost about $100 to
repair the building. Lightning also struck the school building, breaking
several lights of glass and tearing off clapboards and window frames. The
residence of J.S. Mulvey was struck and a stove broken, but no one was
injured.
