Seeman, Hazel M. (11 JUL 1913 – 24 AUG 2019)
Hazel M. Seeman, 106, Marshfield, went home to be with the Lord at the
Golden Living Center – Three Oaks, in Marshfield, on Saturday, Aug. 24,
2019. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, at St.
John’s Lutheran Church in Spencer. Rev. Rebekah Tarras officiated and burial
followed at the Loyal City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jason Dux, Randy
Domine, and David, Allen, Mike and Duane Strey.
Hazel Minnie Strey was born on July 11, 1913, in the town of Granton, to
Robert and Anna (nee Thomas) Strey. She was raised on the family farm in the
town of York and attended Romadka School through 8th grade. She married
Marvin W. Seeman on Sept. 24, 1950, in Mason, Iowa. They moved to Spring
Valley, where they owned and operated Cady Cheese Factory. Throughout the
years, they owned and operated a cheese house at St.Croix Falls, and the
Hatchville Cheese Factory in Hatchville. They lived in Merrill prior to
their move to Unity in 1980. In 2007, they moved to Marshfield where Hazel
resided until her death. Hazel was a good wife who loved being with her
husband, Marvin, and also loved the Lord. They enjoyed attending church,
watching Christian TV programs, and reading the Bible, along with listening
to Christian music and praying with and for everyone. Many years they
visited nursing homes and prayed for the sick and elderly. She loved reading
the Bible and a favorite chapter was Psalm 91. A couple of her favorite
verses were: Psalm 57:11: Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy
glory be above all the earth; and also Psalm 73:26: My flesh and my heart
faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever. Hazel
loved the Lord and her goal in life was to see all of her loved ones and
friends saved and healed. Her dying wish was for people to come to know the
Lord and the joy of knowing Him as their personal Lord and Savior as she
did. Hazel is so looking forward to seeing her husband, Marvin, and the rest
of her family when she gets to heaven. Hazel also enjoyed visiting with her
family and friends and giggling together often when reminiscing about the
innocent mischief they got into when growing up.
She will be missed by her niece, Barbara Dux; her sisters: LaVerne Morin and
Norma Potter; her brothers: Ceylon and Robert; and many nieces and nephews.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; her parents; her
sisters: Elsie Fricke and Helen Domine (her twin); and her brothers: Ernie,
Eralen, Raymond and Victor.
