Duge, Louis (2 Jan. 1928 - 1998)
Louis Duge, 70, of 240 Huron St., died Wed., April 1, 1998, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
He was born in the town of Grant, Clark County, to William and Elsie (Knoop) Duge. He attended Reed Country School and graduated in 1946, from Neillsville High School. He married Elaine Kuenkel on Dec. 22, 1951, in Neillsville. He worked for the Wisconsin State Patrol for eight years, was an insurance adjuster for Heritage Insurance, and also drove semi truck for Janesville Auto Transport. He was the Fairchild Police Chief from 1967 until his retirement in 1981. He served on the Fairchild Village Board for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine of Fairchild: three daughters, Carla (Gordy) Zimmerman of Fairchild; Carmen (Stan) Johnson and Becky (Kurt) Rudesill and grandchildren, Nathan Johnson, Heather and Jenna Rudesill, all of Menomonie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marvelene Butterbrodt.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sat. April 4, 1998, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fairchild with burial in the Neillsville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fri. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and an hour before the services at the church Sat.
