Staffon, Alvina M. (24 February 1896 – 6 July 1975)
Funeral services were to be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Georgas-Gesche
Funeral Home for Mrs. Alvina M. Staffon of Memorial Home, who died Sun day,
July 6, at the age of 79. The Rev. Gary Clark of the United Church of Christ
was to officiate, and burial was to follow in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Staffon, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Graf, was born February 24,
1896, in Milwaukee and was educated in schools there. Following her January
16, 1929, marriage to Leo Staffon, which took place in Oconomowoc, she
worked in Milwaukee for a short time, then moved to Augusta in 1939 and to
Neillsville in 1941. She worked in Neillsville and made her home here for
the remainder of her life. Mr. Staffon preceded his wife in death in 1970.
A member of the United Church of Christ and of Royal Neighbors Golden Link
Camp No. 78, Mrs. Staffon had resided in Memorial Home the past few years.
Survivors include four children, Mrs. Harry (Delores) Harwick and Mrs.
Robert (JoAnn) Lynch, both of Neillsville, Mrs. Howard (Betty) Scott of
Marshfield and Gilbert Staffon of Neillsville; and seven grandchildren and
seven great-grandchildren.
