Kinnick, Barbara Maureen (Marriage – 28 June 1975)

Marriage vows were pledged at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church by Miss Barbara Maureen Kinnick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kinnick, Rt. 1 Neillsville, and Carl Franklin Nemitz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl A. Nemitz, Rt. 2 Neillsville. The Rev. Norman Lindloff officiated at the June 28, 2 p.m. ceremony, followed by a buffet dinner at St. John’s School.

The bride appeared in a soft flowing gown of white Marcaine fashioned with lace and seed pearl-trimmed bodice and bishop sleeves. A rounded train flowed from the waistline. As she approached the altar with her father, she carried a large, old fashioned bouquet of giant Fuji mums, bridal rose, baby’s breath and sprengeri fern with white satin streamers entwined with pink rose buds.

Miss Lilian Melin, Willowdale, Ontario, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Karla Gene Kinnick, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Valerie Kinnick, sister of the groom. Their flowing A-line gowns of pink galaxy knit were topped with floral-patterned capes and accented by white accessories. Each carried a crescent arrangement of Fuji mums, miniature pink roses and foliage.

Attending the groom were Steve Johnson, Independence, as bestman and Franklin Gregory of Racine, uncle of the groom, and Warren Kinnick, brother of the bride as groomsmen. Guests were seated by Theron Otterbacker, Zion, Il., uncle of the bride, as head usher, and Ronald Kinnick, brother of the bride, and Rory Schuette, friend of the groom.

Michael Schmidt was the ringbearer and Audra Otterbacker, cousin of the bride, the flower girl.

Mrs. Janice Mayer sang “O Perfect Love,” “The Wedding Song” and “Lord, Who at Cana’s Wedding Feast.”

The bride was honored at prenuptial showers given by Mrs. Carl A. Nemitz and Mrs. Valerie Kinnick at the Nemitz home; Mrs. Marie Kinnick and Miss Karla Kinnick at the Kinnick home; and by Mrs. Sue Otterbacker, Deidra Kinnick and Mrs. Bridgette Otterbacker at the home of Mr. Sue Otterbacker in Zion, Il.

The new Mrs. Nemitz is a 1973 graduate of Neillsville High School. Her husband graduated from the same school in 1969 and from the Madison area technical college in 1970. He is employed as a master barber in Eau Claire, where the couple will make their home upon returning from a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin and Canada.
