Granton High School Class of 1940 (35 Year Reunion – 22 July 1975)
The Granton High School Class of 1940 held its 35-year reunion Saturday
evening at Bali Hai Supper Club. A social hour from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. was
followed by a dinner and meeting.
Evelyn Dudei welcomed class members and guests and presided over the
meeting. Twenty-one of the 34 members of the class were present. Neva Marg
Schmur, Henry Kidd and Martin Rosandich are deceased. Mrs. Verna Mallory of
Neillsville and Mrs. Myrtle Peterson of Poynette, both former commercial
teachers, were guests.
Class members attending were: Mr. and Mrs. George Anderson, Eau Claire; Mr.
and Mrs. Norman (Dorothy Beilke) Braatz, Granton; Mr. and Mrs. John Bergeman
and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Brinkmeier, Neillsville; Earl Chubb and friend,
Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Finnigan, Indianapolis, In.; Mr. and Mrs.
Vernon Glenzer, Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Arvin (Anna Haines) Liebzeit,
Greenwood; Mrs. Evelyn Dudei and John Hammond, Granton;

Prizes were awarded to the following: Donald Finnigan, coming the greatest
distance; Earl Chubb, having the most grandchildren (thirteen); Violet
Stickert Parmeter, most recently married (1964); Viola Prust Otto, sending
in the last reply.
Plans were made to have another reunion in 5 years with Evelyn Dudei being
in charge.
