Monday morning while W. J. Marsh was rearranging the shelves in his
basement, he found a relic of the older days of Neillsville, the same being
a framed photograph of the first Knight Templars in Neillsville. The picture
is made up of John Currier, Levi Archer, Dr. French, W. S. Colman, James
Reddan, Sam Boardman, Rev. Brothers, and G. A. Austin. All are in uniforms
and considering its long burial, the photo is in an excellent state of
preservation. It was taken about 38 years ago. All of the gentlemen, with
one exception, have been dead for many years. The exception being George
Austin, who resides here, and from his present state of health bides fares
to survive his brothers for many more years. It is also notable that all the
deceased gentlemen are buried in the Neillsville Cemetery. The photograph
will be hung in the Masonic Lodge rooms. (from the Neillsville Times)
