William and Ed Joyce of the town of Weston (Clark Co., Wis.) were hunting
about two weeks ago and saw what they thought to be a fox, and followed it
for fifteen miles. The animal was killed on the Ed Begley farm in the town
of York and it was not until then that the boys notice it was a gray timber
wolf. The boys received a bounty of $20, ten from the state and ten from the
county. This is the first certificate in seven years that Chairman J. P.
Kintzele of the town of York had to make out for shooting a wolf.
